Tablet To Tablet...Saturday Fun

I am working at the office, as I do most Saturdays; but, no billable hours today. I arrived to ceiling panels on the floor, due to a leaky roof. Am waiting the roofer now. It's always something, isn't it? Anyway, in the meantime, I am copying data and files from the Tap 11 to the new 8.1 inch Lenovo Tablet 8. Once all the data and files are over there, I can reinstall my productivity software, and use the smaller tablet as the brain for my system. I have ordered a couple of docking stations for home and the office, and will hopefully reduce connect time to one cable in the future. I will report back. In the meantime, may the sun be at your back, and the rain stay away from your ceiling.

ThinkPad 8 - Dockable, Competent, Out Of Stock

ThinkPad 8 Dockable Windows 8 Business Tablet | Lenovo (US). Just as Sony stopped making and selling my favorite notebook replacement tablet, the Tap 11, Lenovo is not making any more of the Thinkpad 8, an 8.1 inch tablet running Windows 8.1 Professional. I got one of the last of these, and am just now starting to populate it with my productivity software. I don't like that I have to order some micro HDMI cables; but, I already have some micro USB 3.0 cables, since that is what the Note 3 Smart Phone uses. It also only has 2 gigs of RAM; but, it has a 128 Gig SSD, and a micro SD port. The screen is the best tablet screen I have ever seen, and, other than the memory issue, it could easily replace the Sony. It does have a dedicated dock, and I might buy one to find out it it can serve to connect all my peripherals at home and at the office. For now, it will be a backup Windows machine to my backup Sony Tap 11. You can never be too careful. In the meantime, check out some video of this marvelous little machine.

But, most of the case management software is complicated, expensive, and requires monthly subscription or support fees. What if you could get basic time and matter record keeping for a total of $30 for your notebook computer, and $20 for your mobile devices, be they Android or iWhatever? $50. That's it. No more costs, no future payments, just plain, unvarnished cross-platform management of your matters. Of course, this isn't the rocket scientist's case management; but, it will get the job done. You can enter time, events, or tasks from your phone or tablet anywhere in the world. This software will get the job done. The only disadvantage I can see for CaseManager is the fact that it only syncs to Dropbox. Give it a shot. And, they don't pay me anything to say this stuff, although they do advertise on my page.

Samsung Lands A Big Honking Phone Tablet

7-inch Samsung phone lands in China as the Galaxy TabQ | Pocketnow. Samsung is really aiming at the Nexus 7 and the iPad Mini. The Galaxy W, which has landed in China, and will probably be in the States soon, is a big, honking 7 inch screen phone. I think you can stop calling these phablets now. This is a Tablet Phone, or TabPhone,and it will really look ridiculous if you hold it up to your ear. I have a Galaxy Note 3, with a huge 5.6 inch screen, and it has caused me to leave my Nexus 7 in the briefcase or at home most of the time. However, now that there are some tiny watch phones hitting the market, it is nice that the giants are being served. This is why I love the Android space. There are limitless choices, and everything depends on the consumer. Unlike a certain other company, whose focus seems to be on control by the mother ship, and a lack of choice. The W seems to be the next iteration of the Galaxy Mega, a 6 inch monster that never really caught on. Will a full 7 inch tablet replacement with a phone chip make a difference? It will be fun to find out.

This algorithm promises to tweak the phone screen so that the light gets to your eyes already corrected for your vision. Of course, once you ditch the glasses, you will bump into stuff while you are looking at your screen. Of course, they could always tweak the world.
