The Decline of the Android Tablet - The Droid Lawyer%u2122. I agree with this piece by the DroidLawyer. I am using my Android tablets less and less; primarily because of the lack of utility in practicing law, which happens to be what I do most of the time. The rise of larger smartphones have greatly lessened my need for a media eating device anyway. Don't get smug, however, iPad lawyers, because they aren't really as productive as a Mac notebook either. My Windows based tablet is my main production device, and it is the device that has all my real productivity software on it. So, DroidLawyer, you are right. Let's hope that Google and the Android tablet manufacturers can attract some developers that prove us wrong.
I think each has its role. I use my Mac for the heavy lifting, my Windows PC for our case management software, and my iPad in lieu of paper files. I load up my ipad with documents to annotate and/or review, and also in lieu of lugging paper files off to depositions and meetings. TrialPad on the iPad is a pretty great litigation tool, too.
