I don't know when I realized I was different from the other kids. Perhaps it was in first grade, when the nuns rapped me on the knuckles for writing left handed. When I got home, my enraged mom marched me back to school, and I got my first lesson in how to talk to authority figures. Not. After my mom was through, I was permitted to let my natural left handedness take over, and I never looked back. It is a good thing I wasn't born in the time in which "sinister" became the definition of left handedness. Anyway, our day was August 13th. I don't know how I missed it. But, being left handed means being a little off, right?
