These are Samsung's Qi charging backs for the Galaxy Note 4 | Android Central. It appears that the standard QI wireless charging system is becoming standard. If you are one of those persons who isn't, like I am, religious about keeping your phone charged up, this is for you. You can buy backs for your phone that look identical to the official version (these are for the Note 4), and add only a slight bit of bulk to the phone. Just lay the phone on a charging pad, and it charges itself. So, if plugging a cord into your phone, or putting the phone in a charging cradle is too much for you, do it wirelessly.
I have Qi charging for my Nexus 7 FHD which is a "nice feature," meaning, it's convenient to drop the tablet on a pad near my office workstation.
Far more useful, however, is my quickcharger which can charge both the Nexus and my HTC One M8 more quickly than standard chargers due to the Qualcomm chip inside.
