I can believe it! I've used the Oculus Rift before in a gaming environment and I also took a tour through a refugee camp in Jordan. It all felt very real and tangible. The technology is definitely there, and now we just have to wait for it to hit the mass market. Remember how computers started in the 1970's - big, super clunky, expensive and not available to the general public and now babies are practically born with a smart phone in their hands.
