Samsung Unveils Tech That Can Double Lithium-Ion Battery Capacity | NDTV Gadgets. If mobile and wearable computing devices have an Achilles heel, it is battery power. Without power, there is no computer. While I am content with batteries that last all day, and charge all night, the announcement by Samsung scientists that they will soon be able to double current Lithium Ion battery life is significant. It has something to do with Graphene coating for battery cathodes, which I don't understand; but, the advance will allegedly allow the volume expansion of the silicon layers of the battery. Better living through chemistry.
