Toucan Gets 3-D Printed Beak - Geeks are Sexy Technology NewsGeeks are Sexy Technology News. Here is a happy story about the use of technology to help our wild friends. One of the highlights of my trip to Las Vegas in January for CES 2015 was the huge number of companies with 3:D printers. These devices extrude plastic and other substances to create computer designed parts and items ranging from toys to industrial products. The medical device applications are huge. In this instance, a Toucan with a missing upper beak got a new one courtesy of 3-D printing, and the results are evident. I was going to wait for #Parrot Sunday for this one; but, here it is now. Enjoy.
