Blueline - Disruption In The Legal Writing Space

BlueLine Legal Writing. Okay, this is my kind of tech disruption for the legal market. Rather than try to replace lawyers, this company is using modern technology to make their jobs easier. Any lawyer who ever wrote a brief or memorandum has experienced real tedium when checking the citations, and making sure the quotes are accurate. Additionally, modern courts want electronic versions of the briefs, with hyperlinks to the actual case in the brief or memorandum. Additionally, how handy would it be to be able to run a software program on an opponent's brief or memo, and find any errors, and link to free versions of the cited cases? BlueLine does all this, and, while it is still in beta, it is free. It only works for Word documents for now; but, I am promised that versions for Wordpad, WordPerfect, and OpenOffice are coming soon. I have a sneaking suspicion that the company knows that, once a lawyer runs a memo through BlueLine, she will be hooked, and will pay just about any price to keep it.
