When does a phone become too expensive? | Pocketnow. I must be getting smarter with old age. I refused to pay $700 for a new phone when the benefits were outweighed by the price. A two year old phone these days is so fast and feature filled that price benefit ratio is meaningful. My new Nexus 6 is wonderful, and, while I miss the removable battery, Micro SD card slot, and Stylus, I don't miss them as much as I thought I would. And, believe me when I say that pure Google, without carrier interference, is a godsend. Updates come right away, and I am rocking Android 6.0, Marshmallow already. There is a noticeable difference in speed and power, and I am enjoying every minute. The real neat thing is that I got the phone for the price of a low end phone. Shop smart.
