New Speech Recognition Software Specifically for Law Firms - Technologist. I agree that the legal edition of Naturally Speaking is a great product. Voice recognition, in all forms, has been improving greatly in recent years. However, I type faster and more accurately than dictation software, and I can think better when I see my words on the page. Plus, I talk on the phone and in other applications all the time. I really like the quiet contemplative typing ritual. So, $799 is a lot of money to spend on something that would be more of a novelty. If you aren't a lifetime typist, I can see the attraction. To each her own. (Thanks to MyCase for the link)
Or, not needing to type a lot is helpful if the typist has carpel tunnel syndrome or wrist arthritis.
