ADT Home Security - Current Offers. We live in a dangerous world. However, technology and the Internet of Things can be used to help keep us safe. My ADT security system connects cameras to the Internet so that I can monitor my home and office from a web connected phone or tablet or computer anywhere in the world. I can set the alarm remotely, or disconnect it remotely. If the system is breached, I get an alarm and video of the intruder on my phone. Similarly, I now have Ring connected doorbells at home and office that permit me to view and speak to anyone at my front doors. For a small yearly amount, anyone coming within a preset zone in front of the home or office is recorded. Can these systems be hacked? Of course. Any computer system can be hacked. However, in most cases, viewing the Amazon delivery guy is not high on the hacker's priority list. And, ADT and Ring and other security device manufacturers have a "bet the company" interest in preventing unauthorized use of their systems. Let's just say that the tradeoffs are acceptable to me, in exchange for the personal security improvements. Several years ago, when a burglar entered my office, the security video was used to help convict him. Have you taken steps to improve your physical security?
