One of the problems that modern phones create is the battery. In their quest to make phones slimmer and lighter, even Samsung has abandoned the removable battery. A long day of heavy use will kill most phone batteries, and, especially when we are at DisneyWorld, I found my battery dying mid-evening. So, what to do? I could, of course, carry an external battery, and there are plenty of them out there. However, I found a better solution, in my new WiFi Hotspot from Verizon. The JetPack is a thick little brick that serves as WiFi access to up to 15 devices and can serve my entire family simultaneously with a secure Internet connection. However, it contains a removable battery that lasts several days, and can be used to charge my phone or other device. And, as a bonus, IT has a removable battery, and I have purchased a spare. These little guys are easily carried in a pocket when I am going to be out for a long day or even a long weekend without power. Problem solved.
