Google Photos Is 1 Year Old -- Here's What's Next For Photos | Digital Trends. In the one year since its introduction, Google Photos has taken over the Internet, with 200 million users. It is such a joy to be able to know that every photo is stored, catalogued, and available with a click on every device. With the seemingly limitiless storage capacity of Google Drive, and the power of the Google Search algorithms, I can't contemplate using any other method to store my photos. Thanks, Google, and Happy Birthday, Google Photos.
