Google turns 5 and is somehow still alive | TechCrunch. This article by Frederic Lardinois talks about the fifth birthday of Google+ as if he is surprised that it survives in a 140 character social media world dominated by Facebook. As a denizen of Twitter, Google+ and Facebook, the FutureLawyer believes there is a place for each. Twitter is fast, ubiquitous, and doesn't require a lot of time. You can check up on the news without endangering your attention span. Facebook is like hanging around the local diner or watering hole and catching up with family and friends. Google+ is the special interest club you go to on weekday evenings to talk about cars and photography and computers and law and whatever else interests you. I have met more like minded strangers who have become friends there than anywhere else on the Internet. So, Mr. Lardinois, remove your head from your nether regions, look up, and see us plussers. We are loud and we are proud. Happy Birthday, Google+. Long may you live.
