Facebook throws out the news Paper | TechCrunch. In a move that will certainly upset news publishers, and please ordinary users, Facebook has altered its algorithms to favor posts from friends and family over news publishers. In a related move, it dumped Facebook Paper, an app that allowed users to read articles in a newspaper like single article format, and has brought some of the same features into Facebook Articles. If you have never used Paper, don't fret. Most Facebook users get their news from other outlets anyway. And, most users want to get news from friends and family first.
