R.I.P. Palm: A History of the Smartphone/PDA Pioneer - Slide 1 - Slideshow from PCMag.com.From the purchase of my first Palm Pilot PDA in 1998, I knew that I would be using handheld devices in my law practice forever. It could actually connect to my computer with a cable and sync contacts, calendars, and other stuff. Later, it could connect wirelessly; and, even later, it could make phone calls. Apple may have pioneered the smartphone in 2007; but, the Palm Pilot remains the biggest tech advance in handheld computing in history. Read the article for a view of some of the devices in the series. I have owned each and every one of them over the years.
Still have my Treo 755 and T|X sitting in drawers. I can't bear to part with them and power them up once in a while, not that they have any value whatsoever at this point.

I fired up my old Treo 650 about a year ago to take some pictures for this post:

Modern smartphones like the iPhone and Android are so much better, but I really loved using that Treo 650 back when it was in its prime.
