Rocketbook Everlast | Smart Notebook | Cloud Notebook. I still have the calendar notebooks that I filled in in law school. I have been a notetaker all my life; but, many of my notes are lost to history. I know. That is probably a good thing. But, I just received, for review, a notebook made out of mylar that uses Pilot Frixion pens, and sends the page contents directly to the cloud, or whatever cloud service you want. Then, with a moist, damp cloth, you erase the page, and do it again. Very cool. It won't replace my LiveScribe; but, it looks to be ideal for diagrams, and brief notes. Only $34 for the standard notebook. Pen and paper is so passe.

When lightning and a power outage fried my desktop laser printer, I went in search of a replacement. When I saw this one priced $150 below retail, I bought it. Now, I am glad I did. This little printer can sit behind any lawyer's desk, and pumps out 40 pages a minute, pristine monochrome documents. It is also a great backup scanner, and can copy anything you lay on the glass bed. It connects via WiFi to the cloud, and you can print to it from anywhere. The sheet tray holds more than half a ream of paper, and it is rock solid dependable. I love the touch screen controls, and the small footprint of the machine. If you are in a big firm, don't walk down the hall to a shared behemoth. Put this on your desk. Now, go print something.

In-display Fingerprint Sensor - We Don't Want It

In-display fingerprint sensors coming to Samsung's 2019 flagship lineup. Let's assume, for the sake of argument, that I agree that a fingerprint sensor being required to activate a mobile device is a good idea, from a computer security standpoint. Why the hell would you be happy to put it on the front of the display, under the screen? The current location, in the middle of the phone, on the back, is a natural location for the index finger when holding the phone. But, more importantly, has anyone asked a lawyer whether the testimonial privilege exception would prevent a police agency from forcing a user to place their finger on a seized phone for access? In fact, the only way to secure your phone from prying eyes is a password or passcode that is securely locked in your brain. So keep your finger in your pocket, and use a password, grasshopper.

When a pilot jokingly told this news reporter that his crash was caused by a "defective flux capacitor", the news reporter parroted it back in front of the cameras. Somebody will have some 'splaining to do. Note to self: never date a millennial.

Samsung Galaxy Watch hands on review | TechRadar. I am always going on about Smartwatches. I have been looking for a wrist computer to make my mobile life connected for several years, and I have kissed a lot of frogs. The new Galaxy Watch with LTE, however, is as close to perfect as I need. It keeps the useful Tizen OS and rotating bezel of previous iterations; but, it is thinner, looks more like a stylish modern timepiece, and, most importantly, the battery is amazing. I wore it all day yesterday, while I was in and out of the office, and used it a lot. After using it from 5 A.M. until 5 P.M., I got home and it was still at 70% charge. I will be able to go away for a weekend, and this thing will still be working. It is smooth and fast, and I hesitate to say that I have begun to rely on the vibrations reminding me to get out of the chair and get active, and the regular heart rate measurements, as well as keeping count of my steps. I am far from being a fitness nut; but, having a useful medical monitor on your wrist all the time is really handy. $399 with phone chip, and $10 a month on TMobile. How much did your watch cost?
