Execupundit.com: Expectations. Execupundit ponders the unreasonable expectations most of us have during our lives. We, some of us, even expect that we will be deemed to be saints. In fact, there is no award, honor, or designation during our lives that means anything at all to our enjoyment or living of our lives. Expectations of these things, therefore, are actually useless, for many reasons. First, expecting a result has no bearing on its actual occurrence. Second, time spent on expectations, reasonable or otherwise, is wasted. Spend your time doing, and thinking, and you will live a happier life. Third, everyone dies, so any award or recognition of merit that you receive dies with you. The richest man or woman in the world will be just as dead as the poorest. My expectation is that this message will fall on deaf ears; so, I will merely suggest that you, dear reader, contemplate whether you want to live your life dreaming about the future, or enjoying the present. I fully expect that you will make your own right choices. Now, go enjoy the day.
