You can now pre-order an unlocked Palm smartphone to use on any service provider. I admit that the more gadgety a new gadget is, the more I like it. As tiny phones go, the Palm Phone is very cool. Until now, though, it was just a connected add on to Verizon smartphones, which limited its use, especially for those of us who were on T-Mobile, AT&T or other carriers. Now, however, unlocked versions will be available for use on any carrier, and will be stand alone smartphones. If you don't want to carry a huge, honking big phone, this one's for you. Put it in your pocket or purse, and go.
