So far, the coolest feature of the Galaxy Note 10 Plus and its tight integration with Windows 10 is the mirroring feature of YourPhone. No USB cables. No wires at all. No third party apps with buggy interfaces. Turn on the phone and the computer and the phone screen pops up on the computer. It can then be controlled on screen by the mouse, keyboard or whatever else you have attached. This is your Smartphone on steroids, and is a game changer. I shot this photo of my phone on screen showing me shooting a photo of my phone with me onscreen. Now, say that three times fast. Cool.

It is no secret that cloud law practice management software firms tout the benefits of cloud computing and its efficiencies. My two favorite companies, MyCase and RocketMatter, have been at the forefront of cloud computing for lawyers since the mid 2000s. In it, he shows how beneficial it can be to have your essential office documents and software running on a server in the cloud. One of the big reasons I finally decided to bite the bullet and buy a Galaxy Note 10 Plus is the tight integration with Windows. I admit that I have been a Windows guy from day one. Windows has always been about grunt work, and I have always been a grunt. All of the early legacy law practice software apps were Windows only, so the choice was easy. These days, when more work is done on mobile phones than sitting at a desk, integration between phone and computer is essential. The 10 Plus, and the improvements to the connection, make this a no brainer. I am particularly interested in the baked in mirroring of the phone to the computer, and the ability to create a desktop environment for the phone apps. Now, roll up your sleeves, loosen the tie, and get to work.

Focals by North promise to bring smart glasses to all of us | iMore. I love the Bose Frames Smartglasses. They are inexpensive ($199), and give me ALL my notifications via speakers in the frames, with the ability to talk to Google Assistant and can make and receive phone calls. I don't want a holographic video image in my glasses, and I don't want to wear a plastic ring on my finger to navigate it. Finally, there is geek cool, which the Bose Frames are, and too geeky cool, which is what the Focal frames are. The kicker? They cost $999.

Trophies And Other Shiny Things

He used to give tours of the house,
guiding his guests
along the hallways
and into the rooms
filled with trophies and awards.
The ribbons, and medals were neatly arranged
in shadow boxes
made from wood and metal
that shone in the morning light
coming through the windows.

In the halls were photographs
of his conquests
and his ceremonies.
They were filled with more trophies
and awards,
testimonies to his career
and his past glory.

He loved bragging about his past
while he spent his present
reminding everyone of what he had been.

These days,
others give the tours;
but, they do it in a graveyard,
telling all who will listen,
about the great man buried here
who once was famous
and great
and who collected medals and trophies.
The medals and trophies
are sitting in dusty boxes
in pawn shops and the bedrooms of his fans
who live their lives in his shadow
and measure their happiness
by his accomplishments.

Michael Wade asks what the Bose SmartGlasses can do. Why, anything a Bluetooth headset can do. They play your music, make and answer phone calls, send voice texts, ask questions of Google Assistant, and more. The best part is that you are still in the environment, and you don't look like you are lost in earphone land. This is a great video review. Now, if I can get my replacement glasses, and they last longer than six months, I will be a happy camper.

As another Disney Food and Wine Festival begins, I can't  help remembering that it was Jacquelyn's favorite event. We went every year, and walked Epcot eating and drinking and sampling everything. She was a foodie and a wine lover, and I loved watching her pure enjoyment on display. Take plenty of photos every day. When your loved ones pass, they will become treasures.

What Would You Do Today If You Knew a Hurricane Was Going to Hit Your Home or Practice Tomorrow? %u2013 The Florida Bar. Florida lawyers are familiar with the devastation that can be caused by hurricanes. As Dorian bears down on the East Coast this week, it is instructive to ask whether you are prepared for such an event. In addition to basic needs, such as water and communication, have you transitioned your law practice to the cloud? Are you scanning as many documents as you can and storing them in digital form? The digitally competent lawyer could remove herself geographically and still retain the ability to be a lawyer. Can you? This is a good article about some of the ways to prepare for a hurricane; but, it applies to any major interruption in your practice. Be careful out there.
