Bob Beach. I am highlighting some of the friends and others who are gathering to make our wedding special on Sunday. I first met Bob Beach in law school, in 1969. He was a relatively new Circuit Judge, and was the sponsor of our law school fraternity, Phi Alpha Delta. He was a nationally recognized swimmer, and owes his longevity (he will be 90 next year) to his daily regimen of swimming. He has swum from Alcatraz to San Francisco, and grew up in California. When he finally retired completely in 2018, he was the longest serving Circuit Judge in Florida history. I had my first court case in front of him, a burglary that I will only tell you about in person. Suffice it to say that he didn't go easy on me. Over the past 50 years, we have become friends, and I am honored that he has agreed to officiate at our wedding. Thanks, Bob. You are my mentor and guide.
