In fact, chasing money, status, fame, fortune, power or any of the other modern goals, are all fools' errands. Most of these pursuits just result in pain, or emotional agony. Those who don't have them will try to take them from you. If you acquire them, you will soon realize that they are empty vessels, and you will still be looking for something to fill the holes in your soul. In fact, chasing religion, or some concept as God, or the Almighty, can be just as damaging. Living a life that is present based, and not dependent upon material things will, in the end, bring more satisfaction than all the expensive watches in the world. If you have to wear an expensive watch to get along in BigLaw or Big Whatever, you should consider alternative ways of making a living. Just sayin'.
