How To Tell If A Photo Has Been Doctored. The evidence seems clear cut. A photo of your client doing something she shouldn't be doing is presented as evidence in a trial. If you have done your job in discovery, you have obtained a copy of the photo at a deposition, or in response to a Request to Produce long prior to trial. So, you have had sufficient time to examine the evidence. You suspect the photo is doctored; but, you have to prove it. Before you hire that computer expert to examine it, read this article and do some research. You can sometimes figure it out for yourself. Technology is getting better and better, however, so the future requires all of us to revise the old saw: "Seeing is believing". Sometimes, believing requires a lot more than mere seeing. Is the lighting the same on all the persons in the photo. Are there artifacts or blurry outlines around the images? Is the sky TOO blue for school? Be careful out there.
