My recent story about the daughter of my friend, Judge Talwant Singh, of New Delhi, India prompted me to ask the Judge for some details about his talented daughter. In fact, like me, she has an interest in art and the law, and is studying to become a lawyer. While my interest lies in the written word, expressed in poetry, the sculpture she created and graciously gave to my wife, Diane, proves that lawyers can have an artistic side. Gurleen was born on October 21, 1999. Her interests lies in painting nature, objects and portraits. About 4 years ago she learned make-up artistry and later did an internship in a famous salon. Her specialty lies in bridal make-up; and, she also teaches students the art of make-up. She took interest in pottery about a year ago and attended classes conducted by a famous pottery artist in Delhi. She has created animal sculptures, flowerpots and idols. Her art combines clay and painting together, and she creates realistic pieces, as Diane's giraffe demonstrates. Doing all this while pursuing a law degree is challenging. I didn't begin writing poetry seriously until years after I became a practicing lawyer. Thanks, Gurleen. Your work is now famous in the U.S.
Congrats Gurleen. Keep it up.
I am the proud father of Gurleen Kaur.
