You quit Facebook, now you don't know when anyone's birthday is. As the sun rises on my birthday, and my relatives, friends, and Facebook friends kindly remind me that they are out there, I am wondering why Facebook gets so much hate. It is a microcosm of America and the world. It merely reflects who we are. I love the fact that it stores my memories and reminds me of my past. I love the fact that people I seldom or never get to see or visit let me know they are there and thinking of me. Yes, it has flaws; but, so do we all. It has become a bridge to my years with SWMBO. It is a chronicle of my happiness with Diane. It connects me to my friends everywhere. Quitting Facebook seems to be a popular thing to do these days. But, that is a bit like leaving your home and going to live out in the wilderness somewhere. After a while, you will want human contact again. So, thanks in advance to all of my friends, acquaintances, relatives, colleagues, former lovers, enemies, and anyone else who takes a moment out of their day to acknowledge my life and my special day. Even if you are just counting the days until I am no longer here to celebrate them. Every day is special. Some are more special than others. None are as special as this one right now.
