And frustratingly, they never tell you that. Submit a password and it’s rejected with the prompt “you need a capital letter.” Cap a letter and you get “ you need a number.” And so forth. They should provide that info from the outset. IT managers are the dungeon masters of the 21st Century.

This is also a reason for a password manager.
