Dandelion Dreams
She was a Dandelion in a field of flowers.
She stood out in the crowd,
yellow as the sun,
brighter than the moon.
She fluttered in the breeze.
He was her protector,
guarding the field against the grass killers
and wielders of knives
and garden shears.
Her fragility required constant vigilance.
He would stand his ground
against a sea of troubles.
When she called his name,
he ran to her side,
smelled her petals,
and fondled them,
gently letting her know that he was hers,
forever.
When the blades came,
he brought the wind and rain,
removing the threat.
He wanted her to know
that she could grow in peace
into the most beautiful flower
in the field.
