Everyone Knows They're Going To Die; But, No One Really Believes It.

Spalding Gray - Everything Is Going Fine. Revisiting my "Monster In The Closet" poem this morning got me thinking about the Spalding Gray monologue that inspired it: "Monster In A Box", about his monologue that became a movie about writing his novel. His suicide, after suffering from depression and an auto accident, was tragic. But, his insights about death and dying and living are memorable. Make this day about living by accepting that one day we all die. And, try to believe it. Everything will taste sweeter, look more colorful, and feel like seeing for the first time.
