In order to communicate, you have to be facing each other at a distance less than 3 feet. All the TVs in the house have closed captioning enabled all the time. Several years ago, I even tried hearing aids, which, even after the old people discount, were over $2,000. Returned them after a week. So, when I saw tiny Audien hearing aids online several weeks ago, at around $100 each, I was skeptical. I was amazed when they actually worked, and I didn't need closed captioning anymore. If you think you need aids, try these. I even bought Diane a pair. I can't wait to try them out in a restaurant or at a football game, where ambient noise has made it difficult to hold a conversation. Well, at least I still have my hair.
