Today, as I celebrate my 74th birthday, I am happy to get another one to the finish line. Every birthday now reminds me that death is around the corner. Every day is one day closer to the inevitable. But, this is a happy thought. I get, and you get, if you are reading this, another day to walk outside, to do lazy things, like TV, and a thousand other human activities that the dead can't. The world ends when our human life ends. We hope and pray that there is something after; but, we won't know until then. In the meantime, I am going to enjoy the day, go out to a steak dinner with my beautiful spouse, and smell some roses along the way. If I die before I wake, I hope there is a Lord my soul to take. More than that, we cannot ask.
