It has been two years since we last celebrated New Year's Eve away from home. In 2019, we were a couple of months away from the wedding, the honeymoon cruise, and the ill advised Pandemic shutdown, that has caused more trouble than it was worth. Thank God we live in Free Florida, and are able to live life outside again. But, many are living in fear, and staying home. This photo, taken two years ago by Diane, reminds me of the pre-Pandemic time. (She was holding my camera, and I took the photo with my SmartWatch. Cool Tech). Viewed in the long span of history, however, every moment of our lives is spent living in blissful ignorance of some catastrophic event, until the final event, from which there is no return. Get out there and live your life. Spend this coming New Year living, not hiding from death. It is a fool's errand, and one from which there is no return. Spending New Year's Eve outside in 80 degree weather (Yes, Virginia, Florida is free AND warm) is my only goal today. Live free, or die.
