PsychSoGerontology. Execupundit points today to this article that discusses a study in which more positive relationships among older married couples exist when they are concordant, which, in English, means one of you drinks alcohol, and the other doesn't. I have never been much of a fan, even though I have an occasional single malt beverage. I am the designated driver for a group of women who drink alcohol. Jacquelyn's preference was Pinot Grigio, while Diane prefers Vodka. So, I have lived with a Concordant spouse for many years. My New Year's wish for all my friends is that they find a concordant relationship in the New Year. Life is very pleasant with mine. Love you much, Ms. Concordant.
