One of the greatest achievements of my professional life is that I have never had to interview for a job. I cannot describe the feeling of freedom obtained by choosing a life and profession that doesn't require meeting the expectations of another human being, who may or may not be qualified to do their own job. Sure, lawyers do mini interviews with prospective clients all the time; but, clients come and go. Some are a match, and some are not. In the end, retaining autonomy and the freedom of choice is my happy place. Your situation may be different; but, every new lawyer needs to weigh their own situation, and decide whether they are willing to make sacrifices for that autonomy. I am glad I never had to be this guy.
