Why is it that some managers see the need to look over the shoulders of subordinates? Do they think that it increases accuracy in the work? Or productivity? Or, does it just make the workers paranoid enough to look busy? Law Office Management is complicated by the one on one attorney client relationship. I love not having my decisions overseen or second guessed by anyone. Of course, it can be helpful to have a second opinion available. But, on balance, solo practice gives freedom AND autonomy.
