We all die. That is a given. I suppose that, since I have "Memento Mori" signs all over the place, that I am guilty of the same Captain Obvious disease as the lawyer for this town. But, we live in times where the failure to warn is often considered negligence. So, as a lawyer for a small town, it is not unusual for signs like this one to be recommended. Suppose a person walked into the bushes at the end of this sidewalk, fell, and injured themselves. They could sue the city for failure to warn them that the path would get a little soft in a few feet. In a similar vein, I will be reminding you that you will die for the rest of whatever life I have left. Maybe, if you are reminded enough, it will sink in, and you will spend your next day or days laughing, and loving, and smiling, and being joyful, no matter what life and fate throw at you. Until then, the signs will be up. Act asccordingly. Okay, that is today's metaphor. Tomorrow, if we get one, I will remind you again.
