Blow Ye Foul Winds, Blow! We Will Survive!
Sometimes, life can throw a lot at you. While we missed the brunt of Hurricane Idalia, we lost power at the house this morning from a blown transformer. I am at the office with the birds, and still have power. Diane will join later with the animals. In addition to providing a full hookup for the RV, and an aviary for the parrots, my office serves as a backup in hurricanes. It is 25 feet above sea level, and far enough in that it would take a direct hit to do us harm. And, I have backup Internet with the Starlink antenna on the RV. I have been sick lately, and this is just one more thing to deal with. The secret is to treat every event as exactly what we needed. I needed to test my resolve. I needed to test my electronics. I needed to learn that I can function even when not feeling well. I needed to test my backup systems. Thanks, universe, for giving me what I need, when I need it.
