If you see yourself in this little cartoon, it is time to reexamine your priorities. I did it 40 years ago, after striving to be accepted in BigLaw, and, thank Dog, failing. You can choose your path now, so that you will not have regrets later. You might still get a heart attack (I did); but you will most certainly have one or two if you continue on your current path. If you want to be a happy, contented person at 75 ( I pretty much am), don't chase money or fame. Never allow a partner, or client, or anyone other than yourself, to control your time, or your energy. Never take on a legal case that will interfere with your real life with your family. Never accept a job that requires you to bill a minimum number of hours a year. Never get emotionally involved with a client or cause. Always remember that you set priorities in your life. They don't.
