This is a family in Smithfield, Iowa, in 1936, and shows the kids in the family having Xmas dinner, which consisted of cabbage, potatoes and pie. When you sit down at the table on Thursday, and for Xmas Dinner next month, this image should be firmly implanted in your head. The next American who starts complaining in my orbit should prepare to exclude me from their life. I will not cancel you; but, I will not hang around and listen to you either. We live in the best, most prosperous, country in the history of the world, at a time which is the height of our privileged existence. Of course, there are still some inequities and evil in the world. However, a broad view of history is required for any meaningful life, and Thanksgiving is a perfect time to realize all we have to be thankful for. Now, shut up, sit down and enjoy your meal. Feel free to share this with those persons in your family who feel the need to castigate other members who don't share your religious or political beliefs.

There are more than a few things you write with which I disagree.
But this?
Not even a fraction of an iota of dissent.
Happy Thanksgiving, Rick.
