Elon Musk And Twitter/X I am a firm believer in free speech. Unless you are advocating violence, you should be able to say what you want in America, lie if you want, spew propaganda if you want, or whatever. Both extremes of the political spectrum need this freedom, if we are all to be free. You may not like what you hear; but the other person must have the right to say it. It is the bedrock of our democratic republic. The ACLU that represented Nazis in the Sixties who were restricted from marching in Skokie, Illinois understood this. When did we forget it? So, regardless of what you may think of Elon Musk, his purchase of Twitter/X can truly be credited with saving democracy in an Internet world. I don't care if my friends who are liberal or conservative hate me for this principled stance. If you can't freely espouse unpopular ideas, truly ugly popular ideas can proliferate. This little clip of Joe Rogan discussing the issue with Mr. Musk is pretty convincing.
