Augmented Audio -AR Is For The Ears

Augmented Audio. When I got the Bose Alto glasses, I was blown away by the quality of the Bose engineered sound. I can't stop giving the glasses to people I meet so they can hear the wondrous quality of the sound through their glasses without any earphone plugs, and without the person next to them hearing a thing. But, Bose is always one step ahead, and they keep adding AR apps to the Bose Connect collection. These apps take advantage of enhanced sensory input that adds new layers to the sound we hear. The new StarWars inspired app makes the movie scenes in the Rise of Skywalker explode inside your head. In the future, location aware GPS and mobile networks will bring amazing sound to you depending on where you are. A Bluetooth future in which we get ads when we pass billboards or stores in the mall, will be accompanied by incredible sound experiences everywhere we go. Wearing the Bose glasses, running Bose Connect, and travel and museums and the world will come alive with enhanced sound. The lawyer in me sees a future in which every person in the courtroom will be wearing audio enhanced glasses, and the sounds of the trial or the evidence will be piped to them via bluetooth. The best part of this is that our reality won't change; it will be enhanced. Welcome to the future.

Once a place where the elderly sat on green benches downtown, and there was nothing open after 6 P.M., my town has become a foodie destination, and an exciting home for artists, musicians, and other creatives. It is vibrant, and still not taken over by big city chaos, traffic and crime. My office is a short 5 minute drive from some of the best restaurants in the U.S., and, as this article says: "we already have a walkable downtown; front-porch neighborhoods; funky old buildings; and access to the arts, parks, and recreation." Add to that some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, and year round sunshine. Add the Chihuly Museum, the Dali Museum, and Sunken Gardens, a botanical paradise, and the city becomes the only place in the Continental U.S. that checks all the boxes for a great living experience. Okay, I am biased, as I have lived here for 50 years; but, come visit and see for yourself.

Google Cultural Institute Project Lets You Visit The Guggenheim On Your Computer

You Can Now Wander the Guggenheim Right on Your Computer | WIRED. I am not an art expert. But, the coolest thing about the Guggenheim is the circular staircase of the Frank Lloyd Wright design. While Google is doing good work making 360 degree tours possible, the future of such visits is in Virtual Reality. I have visited the Louvre with my Gear VR and you can walk around in a gallery with sound effects, and, when you walk up to a painting, a simple click gives a narration of the painting from an art expert. Some of the paintings are presented in 3D. So, go to New York in person if you can; but, at least, visit via Google Cultural Institute, and, sometime in the future, check it out in VR. Brave new world.
