Okay, I am very old. I have been attending Tampa Bay Bucs home games since the Seventies. That is almost 50 years. In 1979, after a few years of futility, the Bucs had a QB wearing the number 12, who was unappreciated and underpaid. The then owner of the team let him get away because he didn't want to pay him $600,000 for a season. That, even with inflation, is less that some QBs make for a game these days. Doug Williams went on to win a Super Bowl with the Redskins; but, in 1979, he was my number 12. It is fitting that we should honor him today, the Martin Luther King holiday. He was the first black QB to win a Super Bowl, and paved the way for many of the current players.
