It is a daily battle. A lot of marketers, spies, analytics companies, and others want to know where you are going on the Internet. Sure, you can anonymize your browser; but, there are easier ways to block the trackers. After one of my Google+ friends turned me on to Do Not Track yesterday, another suggested Ghostery, which also has a browser extension that permits tracking browser usage. It is also free and easy to use, and identifies and blocks the companies that silently track you on the Internet. It is really interesting to see some of the tracking that is done. I suggest trying both solutions to see which one you prefer.
